Two killers in appeal bid to overturn convictions

TWO men serving life sentences for the murder of Rhamero West are attempting to get their convictions quashed. Applications were also made on behalf of the pair for the length of their sentences to be reduced and for a third man.

Two killers in appeal bid to overturn convictions

The case was heard last week (Friday) at the Court of Appeal. The judges reserved judgement and their decision will be announced at a later date.

Rhamero, aged 16, died on September 9th 2021. Manchester Crown Court was told he was chased down by 'a pack of wolves' in Old Trafford before he was fatally knifed in Norton Street.

In May 2022 after a trial Ryan Cashin who was 19 at the time of the offence was jailed for a minimum of 24 years and Marquis Richards, who was 16 at the time for 18 years for his murder. Giovanni Lawrence, who was 19 was convicted of murder under the joint enterprise law and given 21 years minimum.
