Loan hopes to rescue Red Devils are dashed

A BRIDGING loan to secure the short-term future of Salford Red Devils has 'not materialised,' according to the city's mayor Paul Dennett.

Mr Dennett was asked to give an update on the club and the city's Community Stadium which is owned by the council, and where Salford Reds play.

The rugby league club is facing a series of problems, not least a winding up petition from HMRC, which was recently adjourned in the high court.
