CANCER FIGHTER HAS NOW HELPED TO RAISE MORE THAN £5,300 FOR CHARITIES
A WOMAN is encouraging women to check their breasts after a pea-sized discovery changed her life.
Nicola Harrison, from Ashton-under-Lyne had helped raise more than £5,300 after her diagnosis and treatment for a life-threatening illness.
She checked herself in May 2024, and discovered something she didn’t expect to find - a small, pea-sized lump.
A month later, Nicola was told she had breast cancer.
She said: "I found a lump, no bigger than a pea, during a self-examination in May 2024. Because of my family history, I have always been careful to check regularly and I am so glad I did."
After a referral to Tameside’s breast clinic, Nicola was diagnosed in June 2024 with stage two breast cancer.
