Brough has insisted Tranmere Rovers' players are doing everything they can to turn around their poor run of form, rejecting accusations of a lack of effort ahead of this afternoon's clash with promotion-chasing Swindon Town. The defender accepted the team's performance in Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat to Harrogate Town was not good enough, especially amidst a run of just one win in 14 games.
But he refused the notion that recent results were down to a lack of commitment.
Brough said: "It will get thrown out that players don't care but I don't believe that at all.
"I know the lads in the changing room, especially myself and we are trying unbelievably hard. I get the fans are going to be frustrated but we do all care.
"Nobody gets anything out of us losing 3-0 to Harrogate.
