Loanees end barren run with shock EFL Trophy win

SAMMY Braybrooke and Nathan Opoku finally tasted victory with loan club Newport County after a shock win over neighbours Cardiff on Tuesday night.

The two Leicester City loanees had not won any of their first seven outings with the Exiles, who were on a run of 10 defeats in 11 prior to the clash with Cardiff.
But League Two's bottom club caused an upset in the Welsh capital to claim a 1-0 win in the EFL Trophy.
And Braybrooke again stood out. The midfielder has received positive reviews across his seven appearances for Newport, with fans lauding his technical ability.
