MPs unfazed by Russia sanctions

SURREY MPs have spoken of their ‘pride’ after being banned from entering Russia.

- By JOSEPH BICKLE

Three of the county's MPs have appeared on a ‘stop list’ for their “lies and outright rudeness towards” the country, it was announced last week.

The three Liberal Democrat MPs have all used their platform in Parliament to speak out against Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Vladimir Putin's regime.

Helen Maguire, the MP for Epsom and Ewell, Woking MP Will Forster, and Dorking and Horley MP Christopher Coghlan were named on a 21-person list issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, after it announced it would be carrying out “retaliatory personal sanctions” against members of the UK Parliament.

The sanctions mean they are all banned from entering the Russian Federation. Mr Forster said he and other MPs will not be intimidated and will continue to stand up against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
