Many Kashmiri families live in big homes, own good land, and carry gold passed down for decades. These are signs of comfort. Still, many households feel uneasy because money coming in each month has become uncertain.

Business is slower, jobs are harder to find, and incomes from orchards and small trades no longer stretch the way they once did. Wealth looks strong on paper, although day-to-day life feels tighter.
