More delays on M25 as protesters climb on to gantries

Some of the worst disruption caused the closure of the Dartford Tunnel with delays of 60 minutes and five-mile-long congestion after a member of the protest group climbed onto a gantry on the M25’s nearby junction 31.

But there were also significant holdups elsewhere with protesters scaling gantries between junctions 7 and 8, 8 and 9, and 12 and 13 to the south of London, as well as at junction 27 in Essex and junctions 20, 21a and 22 in Hertfordshire among others.
