JAKE SCORES THE WINNER AGAINST HIS FORMER CLUB
BURTON Albion's brilliant form continued with an impressive home win over Blackpool as they climbed into the top half of the League One table.
Jake Beesley came up trumps against his old club to decide the game as the Brewers recorded back-to-back wins after beating Bradford City in the previous game.
They were indebted to Brad Collins for a double save at the end but it was another typical performance by a Gary Bowyer team with the players giving everything, defending their goal with all they had, battling in midfield and their attacks were sprinkled with a bit of magic which helped to create the only goal.
The only negative was an injury to Charlie Webster in the first half which he tried to shake off but ultimately saw him succumb to a substitution barely seconds into the second half.
JJ McKiernan replaced him and was one of the Brewers' best players during the time he was on but any injury to Webster would be of real concern, although it should give confidence that when he came off it was goalless and they found a way to win without him.
With Toby Sibbick away on international duty representing Uganda, Jasper Moon returned in the only change from the 2-1 win at Bradford, while Terence Vancooten, McKiernan and Sebastian Revan were all handed a place on the bench.
