Kane spot on to keep trophy hope alive
DO NOT even think about writing off Harry Kane's chances of winning his first-ever trophy this season.
Kane is still in with a big chance of writing his own fairy tale as his 43rd goal of the season kept Bayern Munich in contention to reach the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1.
What a story that would be for the England captain to win the European Cup and the first piece of silverware in his career at his own national stadium.
It was never going to be easy. The tie is so evenly poised because two-goal Vinicius Jr (inset) scored a late penalty to level it up ahead of next Wednesday's second leg in the Bernabeu.
But Bayern almost swept away Real Madrid amid the noise of the 75,000 sell-out crowd in the Allianz Arena in a fabulous match-up between two of European football's superpowers.
And on this occasion, it was Kane who came out on top against Jude Bellingham in the battle of the England stars.
