Top cop says special stop and search powers will be used

OLD Firm cops have vowed to take a zero tolerance approach to fan violence after being handed extra powers to hammer the hooligans on Glasgow derby day.
Officers will be allowed to use stop and search measures to hit troublemakers before and after tomorrow's game between Celtic and Rangers.
It comes after rival fans clashed in ugly scenes in December, causing Christmas shoppers in Glasgow city centre to cower in terror.
Police Scotland will use Section 60 powers, allowing them to search individuals for weapons or remove items used to conceal identities.
This includes searches of those in vehicles or on foot, which Police Scotland say will be used “where appropriate and necessary”.
