Roy: It is about survival now, not promotion.

ROY MacGREGOR admits shifting financial realities mean Ross County can no longer regard themselves as a Premiership club by rights.

The entrepreneur and owner of the Global group of companies has proclaimed for many years that the top flight is where the Dingwall club belongs and needs to be.

But MacGregor cites new income streams from European qualification, American investment and a renewed influx of foreign talent for his change in outlook.

Insisting he's not being defeatist, the major County financier of the last 30-plus years says the club will need to 'recalibrate' its philosophy.

And may have to accept it could at best be a “yo-yo club”, bouncing between the Premiership and Championship.
