Ball in Russia's court after Zelensky agrees 30-day ceasefire through US

RUSSIA blitzed Ukraine yesterday as the world awaited president Vladimir Putin's response to peace talks involving the US.

The deadly missile and drone barrage hit the nation hours after Kyiv indicated it was ready to stop the war.

A 47-year-old woman was killed when a double-tap missile hit Volodymyr Zelensky's birthplace Kryvyi Rih.

The president had reacted positively to Saudi talks with the US but warned "none of us trust" the Russian regime.

He said in Kyiv: "I have emphasised this many times."
