Dundee chief lays down law to boss

JOHN NELMS has told new gaffer Steven Pressley he is expected to lead Dundee back into the Premiership's top six.

Elvis was unveiled as Tony Docherty's successor on Monday but it is a decision that has not gone down well with a large section of the Dens Park support.

Pressley comes into a new position working with David Longwell, who has been named technical manager, and under technical director Gordon Strachan.

Managing director Nelms is looking for the new man to deliver success and the minimum requirement is a top-half finish.

He said: "It's always top six. Top six is what we budget for and is always our goal.

"We always strive to be in the top six and always will. It's tougher to do when you're walking the development line - we were one of the youngest teams in the league last year. But that's always the goal.

"Getting into Europe will be a step beyond that and that is where we believe Dundee should be.
