Cheryl's 'panic' after spotting her stalker on doorbell camera

A CONVICTED killer who stalked Cheryl Tweedy by turning up at her home was jailed yesterday.

Daniel Bannister got 16 weeks for breaching a restraining order to stay away from the Girls Aloud singer.

Bannister appeared at her mansion and said into the doorbell camera: “I've come to get Cheryl.”

The 50-year-old, who served jail time in 2012 for killing a homeless man in a hostel, caused the star “serious alarm” by “displaying fixated, obsessive, unwanted and repetitive behaviour”, Wycombe magistrates court was told.

Sentencing, District Judge Arvind Sharma said Bannister knew Cheryl, 41, was “very distressed and upset”.

imageHis appearance outside her home in December was just three weeks after her ex Liam Payne’s funeral.

Cheryl, mum to their seven-year-old son Bear, said in a statement she “immediately panicked” when she spotted Bannister on a doorbell camera.

She said: “I feared for my safety immediately and I feared for my child’s safety.

“He was due back from the cinema and I didn’t want him to see Daniel.”
