Snow still possible as rain hits cold air

SNOW is possible in North Wales later this week as low pressure moves in from the south west.

Some weather models indicate up to 19cm falling on the country as the Atlantic low bumps into colder air.

The exact position of this weather battleground has yet to be firmed up, with Met Office maps currently showing wintry showers further east over the Midlands and Welsh Borders.

The national forecaster expects low pressure to drop plenty of rain as it heads northeast. A yellow warning for heavy rain has been issued for Thursday, January 15, from 9am until midnight.
