Should the Blues offer a new deal to Calvert-Lewin?

Daily Post

QUESTION marks hang over the heads of many players, but it would be fair to suggest that most Evertonians had accepted this was going to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s final season with the club.

The striker is one of 15 members of David Moyes’ squad either out of contract or at the end of their loan deals this summer.

But a report emerged on Wednesday that Calvert-Lewin’s representatives are hoping for fresh talks on his future.

Everton face an exciting but daunting rebuilding job that will take longer than one summer to complete. But should Calvert-Lewin, who has scored some of the biggest goals in the club's recent history, be a part of the new dawn?

Here our Everton writers have their say.

JOE THOMAS: It would be a good move to re-sign Calvert-Lewin, but only on one condition - neither he nor the club enter an agreement in which it is a given he will be first-choice next season.

That might be tough to stomach for a player who is comfortably the best forward at the club and one responsible for several special moments in recent seasons.
