Flexible plastics to be added to recycling

CONWY Council plans to introduce “new materials” including “flexible plastics” into its recycling collection scheme.

The council is developing a new bin and recycling strategy that will shape how the county manages its rubbish and recycling over the next five years.

The draft waste and resource strategy sets out a vision to increase recycling rates.

A report is set to be considered by a scrutiny committee and Conwy 's cabinet this week.

The draft report states that Conwy now meets the 70% statutory target for recycling, but the council is keen to increase this further, reducing rubbish going into black bin bags.
