Bid to revive care home and create 35 jobs – but neighbours raise worries

PROPERTY HAS BEEN UNOCCUPIED SINCE PREVIOUS FACILITY CLOSED IN 2018
A VACANT Rhos on Sea care home could be rebuilt, offering 50 ensuite bedrooms for elderly residents.
Ian Khanijau of Firtree Healthcare Limited has applied to Conwy County Council's planning department, seeking permission to demolish 13-17 Priory Grange on Kenelm Road.
Neighbours have, however, raised concerns about noise and traffic.
The company wants to construct a purpose-built new care home made up of 50 individual rooms, with communal living and dining areas, together with amenity and staff areas.
The home has been closed since 2018 due to "viability issues".
But neighbours Ruth and Mike Mulvaney have written to Conwy to object to the plans.
