7th Fleet’s USS Santa Barbara in maiden call to Colombo

THE US Embassy in Sri Lanka in a state ment on Friday said the USS Santa Barbara of the 7th Fleet will make its first call on the Port of Colombo on 16 August.

It said the US 7th Fleet commands the world’ largest forward-deployed fleet with the primary mission of providing operational control and planning for its forces in the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans, while promoting regional stability and maritime security through engagements with allies and partners.
