Actress Dame Joan Plowright, whose career spanned over six decades, died on January 16, aged 95. Legendary Scotland and Manchester United footballer Denis Law died on January 17, aged 84. Sixties icon Marianne Faithfull, singer and former girlfriend of Mick Jagger, died on January 30, aged 78.
