Probe as blaze hits office of Tory MP

THE Metropolitan Police opened an investigation into a suspected arson attack at a government minister's constituency office on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called at about 7pm to a fire in a shed at the North London office for the Tory MP for Finchley and Golders Green.

Mike Freer, who has represented the area since 2010, said the rear of the building had been damaged.

He added police and the fire brigade were on site "in minutes".
