Sir Alan finally gets Post Office payout

WRONGED sub-postmaster Sir Alan Bates has finally settled his compensation claim for seven figures.
The scandal was highlighted by the ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office in 2024 starring Toby Jones as Sir Alan, who bravely exposed appalling failures that cost lives and livelihoods.
Liverpool-born Sir Alan, 71, has previously said the Department for Business and Trade “‘sits in judgment of the claims and alters the goal posts as and when it chooses”.
