Smith puts boot into Sarries to get Quins up and running

MARCUS Smith won his duel with Owen Farrell, passing his autumn international audition as Quins retained London bragging rights over their bitter rivals.

Smith, on his return following the Lions tour, scored 15 points, including an eighth-minute try, and tormented Saracens with his kicking.

His masterplan of mixing up short and long kicks and running the visitors' back three around was the key to his side's third league win on the spin against Sarries, their best run for 16 years.

The strategy was not what Harlequins, the self-proclaimed great entertainers, normally try but it works and Smith was at the heart of it.
