Sea level rise consultants update Castine select board

The Castine select board received an update on February 24 from Lisa Vickers of GEI Consultants on the assessment and feasibility study of the town's dock area, which is being developed to address rising sea levels.

Vickers' update reflected feedback received during the open community meeting held January 30. At that meeting, residents were asked to identify what they felt were the most important assets of the town dock area and what they'd like to see included as the study moves forward.

Close to 100 residents participated in person or remotely at the January meeting, which identified six of Castine's waterfront assets that were singled out as most important to the town: the boat ramp, Acadia pier, the town dock, the public bathrooms, the dockside seasonal restaurant, and parking.
