Opportunity Fund gives $63K to local organizations

The Opportunity Fund, a charitable organization run by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Castine, has announced its support of five area organizations thus far in 2025.

The funding, which totals $63,000, according to a press release, includes:

• $8,000 to the locally produced "Building Hope" film documentary by Kane Lewis Productions on Maine homelessness and solutions. The funds will allow the film to be further distributed throughout the state, including to legislators in Augusta, according to fund chair Bob Holmberg.

• $20,000 to HOME in Orland in support of their Wraparound Navigator program, assisting homeless clients into transitional housing and jobs.
