Jubilant scenes as Albion climb out of drop zone

Tomas Kalinauskas and Terence Vancooten lead the Brewers' celebrations

BURTON Albion climbed out of the drop zone with a huge win over promotion contenders Huddersfield Town.

The returning Jake Beesley and Terence Vancooten scored the decisive goals either side of an Alfie May equaliser, before JJ McKiernan added the cherry on top to secure jubilant scenes at the Pirelli Stadium amid what felt like much more than just three points.

Bodies have been thin on the ground of late. Those that have been fit have been asked to go to the well countless times whilst running thin on gas.

It is therefore no surprise to see this performance, and indeed the result, go in their favour now they have several more stars to call upon and a new signing to go with it.

It's not rocket science, as Brewers supporters and Gary Bowyer will argue, and there will be no university thesis needed to work this one out.

That two of the goalscorers were players returning from frustrating injuries should not be in the least bit surprising either. The freshness and energy they injected was clear for all to see.

Perhaps the fact it was Vancooten too who has been through his own injury nightmare but was one of the warriors who played almost every second of every game over Christmas and is getting his just deserts finally.

That being said, the importance of this result cannot and should not be underestimated.
