4%-brandstofverhoging wyd veroordeel

Die Outomobiel-Assosiasie (AA) het die verhoogde brandstofheffing van 4%, wat in die minister van finansies, Enoch Godongwana se begroting aangekondig is, veroordeel. Dit nadat 'n verhoging van 3c per liter koolstofheffing reeds in April in werking getree het.

Volgens die AA sal dit vervoerkoste opjaag, voedselpryse hoër laat styg en meer druk op reeds sukkelende huishoudings plaas.

Op 4 Junie styg die algemene brandstofheffing, ingevolge die begroting, met 16 sent per liter vir petrol en 15 sent per liter vir diesel - wat die eerste verhoging in drie jaar is.
