“BOYS believe in Santa but girls are Muslims", my four-year-old granddaughter said when asked what she wants from Santa and added, “There is no Santa but I want a Christmas present”.

I always tried to tell my children the truth from as little as one year old because I believe the journey towards a resilient and mentally robust adulthood begins not in the schoolyard, but in the earliest years.
By introducing logical thinking and age-appropriate facts from the age of one and by consciously avoiding lies - even comforting ones - we provide children with the most crucial tool for navigating life: an unwavering trust in reality itself.
