Fun and games for all at park

A PARK'S main play area has been refurbished and kitted out with new equipment to suit children of varying ages and abilities - including a new climbing frame and slide.

In May, phase one of the project to refurbish the play area at Rhyddings Park in Oswaldtwistle began, and it's now complete and open again.

One major change to the space has been the inclusion of equipment designed especially for children with disabilities.

The additions include a wheelchair accessible roundabout, while an accessible swing seat will be installed shortly.

Before work began over 400 residents, including 89 schoolchildren, took part in public consultations. Their comments were taken into consideration when the park was redesigned.
