As soon as they saw this Edwardian house, Katie and David Curtis knew it would be the perfect setting for Christmas

Christmas begins early in the Surrey home of Katie and David Curtis – mid-November, in fact. 'I get very carried away, I just love the buildup,' says Katie.

The couple's three children – Freddie, eight, Finn, six and Lily, four – share her enthusiasm: 'They have their own tree, which they decorate with baubles from their grandparents and handmade treasures from nursery and school.

It's not as curated as the other trees in the house, but it brings so much joy,' she says.

The family moved from London to their spacious, six-bedroom Edwardian house, situated in a small village in Surrey, six years ago. From the moment they stepped through the front door, Katie and David knew it was the perfect setting for family Christmases. 'You walk into a generous hallway and to the left there's the elegant sitting room with a large open fire.
