After pounding the beat as unorthodox detective Robbie Ross in Taggart for 12 years, John Michie found it odd being on the other side of a police interrogation for a guest role in fellow gritty Scottish crime drama Karen Pirie. 'Interviewing as a cop, you're just asking factual questions such as, “Where were you on Thursday?” So it was very strange being questioned, but I enjoyed it as that's where acting is full of subtext; it's all about what you're not saying,' explains the actor, 68, in an exclusive chat with TV Times ahead of his first appearance as shady businessman Fergus Sinclair this week.
