SARA DAVIES on her new show where dreams are turned into reality

Sara Davies is delighted to be giving budding inventors the chance to bring their products to life in her new BBC1 series The Big Idea Works. Filmed in a warehouse studio, the 16-parter will see the Dragons' Den investor and her team of engineering experts help people turn their dreams into prototypes.

'This show is very personal to me,' smiles Sara, 40, as she joins TV Times for an exclusive chat. 'My business started from an invention [Sara founded art-and-papercraft business Crafter's Companion in 2005]. I had an idea for an envelope-making tool for crafters, but it would never have become a business without an engineer, which in my case was my dad.

'I thought, “There must be millions of people with ideas who never get to turn them into reality” – and I love being able to help them with that.'
