Chris Hemsworth has become a global superstar through his portrayal of Thor, the Norse god of thunder, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But while his powerful alter ego can battle whatever's thrown at him, life for the Australia-born actor, who earned his stripes in soaps Neighbours and Home and Away, is a little more down-to-earth.

During filming for the first run of his 2022 Disney+ docuseries Limitless, which saw him push his mind and body to the brink in a variety of challenges on a quest to live a longer and healthier life, he discovered he has an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, due to having two copies of the APOE4 gene.

As Chris now continues exploring science-backed ways to improve our health and wellbeing in followup three-parter Limitless: Live Better Now, his first new mission is taking on an activity that is believed to aid memory and cognitive function: learning a musical instrument.
