HEALING touch

Hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer shines in touching new family saga The Madison, which comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and draws on some of life's big themes – from love and death to ageing and grief. Pfeiffer leads the cast of the Paramount+ six-parter as wealthy New Yorker Stacy Clyburn, who has been happily married to her businessman husband Preston (Kurt Russell) for decades, raising their slightly dysfunctional family in a swanky Manhattan apartment.

But when a sudden tragedy upends their cosseted lifestyles, Stacy and her shattered family – including her spoilt adult daughters Abigail (Beau Garrett) and Paige (Elle Chapman) – find themselves engulfed in grief,

In the days that follow, as the family is reluctantly drawn away from all their rich city trappings, they end up spending time in a remote cabin on Montana's stunning Madison River, where they slowly begin to process their loss.

'People should watch The Madison for so many reasons. It's very moving, it's funny, and I think people are going to fall in love with every single one of the characters,' says Pfeiffer, 67, whose career spans more than 40 years and includes her breakthrough role in 1984 crime drama Scarface
