Central India’s premium agri summit Agrovision at its 14th edition in Nagpur added two important new angles to its initiatives among farmers. First one is value addition by food & agro-processing. Second is emphasis on promoting farmers producers companies (FPCs).
Working on the principle of Agrovision’s Chief Patron and Union Minister for Highways and Road construction, Nitin Gadkari, “conversion of knowledge into wealth,” Agrovision has been giving information and knowledge to farmers to increase farm productivity, improve quality, bring in change in crop patterns and converting biomass and waste into energy.
In his address, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways and Chief Patron, Agrovision said, “We are in the 14th year of Agrovision and from last 13 years we are successfully conducting Central India’s largest Agri Summit with the support of all the people involved along with the farmers. Initially around three lakh farmers used to visit the exhibition and now over a couple of lakhs of farmers visit the expo every year. This year the theme of Agrovision is “Sustainable Farming Through Skilling & Technology” as sustainable farming is the key to ensuring food security and protecting the environment.
