The couple who once likened themselves to the “Posh and Becks” of Australia appear to be following in the footsteps of their more famous counterparts – and bickering more and more as they try to save their marriage.

Friends say Bec Hewitt has had enough of being taken for granted by “ungrateful” husband Lleyton as their once celebrated love affair comes under increasing pressure and they fight to revive the spark that has gone out after almost 13 years of marriage.

“The biggest danger for Bec and Lleyton now is boredom,” says one friend, who says both are struggling with the humdrum of normality after the jet set life they led when he was playing tennis.

“They are a couple stuck in stale domesticity in suburbia, and as they bicker and run after the kids, life could not seem more different to Bec’s days of hobnobbing with celebrities on the tennis circuit.”

The tension between the pair was palpable, as they fought openly while out together in Melbourne recently.
