Emulating The Success Values
Human Capital
|March 2017
As Indian entrepreneurs dig in their heels and look to script success stories of their own, the industry often wonders what it can do right to emulate the Silicon Valley model.
Startups in the Silicon Valley carry an edge over their counterparts in other parts of the world. With some of the world's biggest corporate powerhouses having their homes in the Silicon Valley, industry analysts, to say the least, are bewildered. Be it Google, Twitter, Facebook, Adobe or Apple, the business origins of an entire range of giants lie in the Silicon Valley, where these game-changing corporations started their journey as nothing more than powerful business ideas.
Some analysts claim that the presence of a large and readily available pool of talent makes Silicon Valley a ripe ground for business, while a few others believe that it is the innovation-friendly eco system that functions to boost the success rates of startups in the area. However, a number of human resource experts also believe that it is the distinct culture of cultivated employee engagement that holds the key to the success stories of a range of corporate houses that started up in Silicon Valley.
Back home in India, startups have become a buzzword since the recent past, with a post reform economy unleashing a new entrepreneurial energy. As Indian entrepreneurs dig in their heels and look to script success stories of their own, the industry often wonders what it can do right to emulate the Silicon Valley model. To begin with, it can work to adopt the good from the Silicon Valley work culture that respects and values talent, and, provides the right eco-system for human resource to thrive.
