In 1996, the Existing Industry and Business (EIB) Division of the Mississippi Development Authority launched the Mississippi Market Wholesale Show, an event designed to bring business owners and artisans together with retail buyers from around the region. The concept: To help entrepreneurs introduce their products and increase their business sales.

Many of the artists and businesses that made their debuts at the Mississippi Market Wholesale Show have achieved great success and exhibit at larger shows in larger markets as well as the Mississippi Market each year.

The Mississippi Market Wholesale Show is now organized by Mississippi Magazine, presenters of the popular Mercantile Mississippi retail show held the first weekend in May. Mississippi Magazine is proud to take the helm of this economic development vessel launched by the MDA and to continue their mission of connecting wholesalers with retail buyers from the Magnolia State and beyond.

It was with very heavy hearts that Mississippi Magazine cancelled the 2020 Mississippi Market Wholesale Show. So in lieu of an in-person event in 2020, we have created a program listing all exhibitors, their contact information, and a few photos of their products. This program will be distributed digitally to all registered exhibitors and buyers. We want to continue the Market’s mission of connecting business owners and artisans with retail buyers from around the region.

While the cancellation of the show was a difficult decision, we are thankful for the love and support the event has received. We look forward to seeing everyone again on June 3-4, 2021, in the new Mississippi Trade Mart!
