The design of educational institutions is rarely spotlighted, which is why we felt compelled to do so this issue. A study showed that well-designed classrooms can improve pupil performance by 16 percent. The onus is therefore on architects to advise educators to get the basic physical factors of these spaces right, and provide a conducive environment for learning and development.
