Living Nature The “S.P.A.S.” Gallery is staging a “fabulously luminiferous” exhibition of still life paintings by Elena Likhatskaya. The colour in her works is, at the same time, simple and complex, decorative and luminiferous. She depicts ordinary objects as living characters, creating an endlessly mobile habitat in which things come to life and function. With the power of her fantasy Likhatskaya transforms them into actors in her wonderful “naïve” theatre. Elena highlights the most important aspects, discarding superfluous details. Cups, teapots and vases take on sweet, amusing characters, while toys and porcelain statuettes introduce melancholy nostalgic notes. 2—30 Mar.
