We survived winter and not only that, we scored some of the most epic waves for a very long time through these colder and shorter days. We roamed the country far and wide, kicking down with grassroots surfing, groms, and champions! A few lucky crew ventured offshore and returned with tales of life-changing sessions. The Indian Ocean Lights Up- During the same period as the cover, the entire Indian Ocean was bombarded by swell after swell! For nearly a month the swell didn’t drop beneath six foot and peaked during the mega-viral swell, that saw the internet blow up when a 20-25 foot swell pounded the Indonesian coastline forcing an ocean-going ban enforced by the Indonesian Government. We feature the stories from a few Kiwis caught up in this madness, the highs and the lows!
The Surfboard Design Forum- Being our annual surfboard design issue, firstly we take a look at ‘First’ surfboards, the first boards ridden in NZ and each surfers ‘first’.
