When Rosanna Stokley found herself furloughed, she was unsure of her next step. But then she turned her passion for helping animals into a business and today, her farm helps thousands of people heal!

We help rescue animals-and heal human hearts!"

What do I do now? Rosanna Stokley wondered as a new day dawned. In the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rosanna’s world had completely turned on its axis. A divorced mom with four children, the Long Valley, New Jersey, resident was used to being busy—juggling her kids’ activities, her own business, RJ Stokley Photography, and even a handful of adopted dogs, cats and two rescued thoroughbred horses.

But with her family sheltered in place, her business shut down and her children attending virtual school classes, Rosanna needed something new to occupy her time and her focus—and she turned to an old passion.

Growing up, Rosanna had always been the type to bring home the wounded bird and stray kitten. Her parents would tell her to put them back, but she was determined to help heal them first. And now, she decided to put her energy into caring for her animals. She even added to her brood, taking in four alpacas and six chickens. Word of her hobby farm spread, and before long, Rosanna was getting requests from people to adopt their animals. Some who called were sick or unemployed due to the pandemic and couldn’t afford them.
