Lisa Kite loved teaching her new pup to do amazing tricks. But when she taught her how to paint, Ivy proved to be a real ‘pupcasso,’ whose talent now raises money for charity and spreads joy to millions!
Lisa Kite’s heart weighed heavy as a series of yelps filled the air. “What is it, Ivy?” she asked, exasperated. “I wish I could understand what you need.”
After falling in love with her oldest son’s Australian shepherd, the 59-year-old retired nurse welcomed one of her own into her Charlotte, North Carolina, home. But all the 8-week-old pup did was cry and bite everything in sight.
Since Aussies were active working dogs who loved to learn, Lisa decided to start teaching Ivy some tricks. And not just how to sit and roll over. By the time Ivy was 2 years old, she could retrieve drinks from the fridge, sort socks out of the laundry and put them in the washer, take off Lisa’s jacket, turn lights on and off, put coins in a bank and wipe her feet when she comes in the house.

The Mary Tyler Moore SHOW
From That Girl in the 1960s to Ally McBeal in the 1990s to Sex and the City in the 2000s, television has long reflected the shifting image of independent women. Yet the true game-changer came in 1970, when The Mary Tyler Moore Show introduced Mary Richards—30, single, stylish and making her way in a newsroom full of men. Rather than being someone’s wife or daughter, she was the star, and she changed television forever. Join us for a look back at rare behind-the-scenes photos of the groundbreaking show as we celebrate its 55th anniversary.

Happy money, happy holidays
The holidays are here (yay!), and with them comes both joy and, let's be honest, stress. For many of us, the shopping lists, entertaining costs or the ache of an empty chair at the table can dim the sparkle of the season. If that's you, please accept my wishes that the days land lightly.
