How to reduce your cancer risk

According to the American Cancer Society, some of the most common types of cancer women face are breast, ovarian, colorectal and endometrial. The good news? Regular screenings such as mammograms and pelvic exams can catch some cancers early when they're most treatable, and these study-backed tips help reduce your risk of ever developing them in the first place
Ovarian cancer
Researchers have found that a diet high in cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower and broccoli can reduce the risk of developing ovarian cancer. According to a study in Nutrition and Cancer, eating 10 servings or more of these foods lowered risk, thanks to phytochemicals in the veggies called glucosinolates. These compounds hinder tumor growth, suppress inflammatory reactions and boost immune defenses.
