He discovered the recipe FOR REDEMPTION!

After gaining a second chance at life, Milas Williams (left) decided to do whatever he could to make a difference

Twenty-five years!” the judge slammed his gavel, and Milas Williams did a quick calculation.

He was only 19. I'll be 44 before I get out, he thought, but he wasn’t bitter. He’d done the crime, and now he was ready to accept his punishment.

This isn't the end of my life, he told himself.

It's the beginning of a new life, and it's up to me what I do with it.

Milas and his younger brother, Detrick, grew up in the toughest part of San Antonio, where gangs ran the streets and drugs and crime were on every corner. Their single mother did her best to keep them safe, but when she developed cancer and needed medicine they couldn’t afford, her sons went out to get it the only way they knew how.

The brothers were convicted of aggravated robbery and sent to separate prisons. Milas entered his facility determined to become a better man. Assigned to the kitchen, he excelled at every task—from chopping vegetables to scrubbing pots. He made it his mission to learn something from every fellow inmate—even Louis, a white supremacist who baked incredible biscuits.
