That’s the word from scientists out of Sweden, whose new study of subjects 60 and older shows that those who have the strongest bonds with friends or family are 29% less likely to develop a lower-lung infection. Feeling cared for and supported by others reduces stress, which helps the immune system fight viruses and bacteria.
AND SIP TEA! Permission to pour another cuppa! Japanese scientists found drinking at least 1 cup of black or green tea daily cuts the risk of colds and flu by up to 33%. Catechins in tea prevent viruses from grabbing hold and developing into illness.
