Unexpectedly FASCINATING!

The UK has a wealth of unusual museums that reflect the peculiar passions of their founders or an enthralling, and sometimes overlooked, aspect of local heritage. If you're keen to see memorable objects and discover intriguing facts, here are a few places to start.

Bubblecar Museum
NEAR BOSTON, LINCOLNSHIRE

If the sight of Rodney and Del Boy's yellow Reliant Regal supervan makes you smile, make tracks to this nostalgic collection of microcars. These fun, thrifty vehicles took off during the 1950s when fuel was in scarce supply. Later, mini versions of sports cars reflected the carefree motoring of the Swinging Sixties. Cast your eyes on over 50 models with names such as Bond, Frisky and Bamby, along with later designs like the futuristic Sinclair C5. A row of 1950s-style shops adds to the vintage vibe and on certain weekends you can book a spin in a bubblecar.
