You can book lessons at the surf shops in the town centre or with the École de Surf du Golf (ecoledesurfdugolf.com), the only surf school situated on La Plage Verte des Chênes-Lièges, a quieter area of coastline. Considered one of the best surf spots in France, Moliets-et-Maa has ideal conditions for surfers of all abilities, and children can join in from age six. Lessons start at around £40, including wetsuit hire, and skilled instructors typically get everyone catching waves, whether standing or lying down, within a two-hour session.
