When Wally Lewis married his now wife Lynda Adams after four years of dating, it wasn't just because they were madly in love but also because he wanted to make sure he remembered their big day.

Wally, 65, was diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in 2023, a degenerative brain disorder caused by repeated concussions. His diagnosis was key in getting married as soon as possible.
"I want to marry you and I want to be able to remember it for as long as I can," Wally told Lynda at the time, he revealed in an interview with The Australian last week.
